Third Sunday of Epiphany
January 22, 2012
WELCOME
Stories of the call to discipleship continue as the Time after Epiphany plays out the implications of our baptismal calling to show Christ to the world. Jesus begins proclaiming the good news and calling people to repentance right after John the Baptist is arrested for preaching in a similar way. Knowing that John was later executed, we see at the very outset the cost of discipleship. Still, the two sets of fisherman brothers leave everything they have known and worked for all their lives to follow Jesus and fish for people.
ADULT FORUM
Join us between services to hear Christine Wagner, Executive Director of the St Joseph's Neighborhood Center, talk about the lack of insurance among the poor.
OFFICE NOTES
Don’t forget to check the sign up sheet in the Narthex to see when you can help us keep the sidewalks clear for worship services - Thank you!
There’s also a sign-up sheet to help host the coffee and bagels between services on Sunday mornings… It involves making the coffee, setting out the bagels and cream cheese, and cleaning up afterwards. One of the “regulars” would be happy to show you the ropes.
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
Mark your calendars for our Annual Congregational meeting next Sunday, January 29th at 10 AM, between services in the sanctuary.
YOUNG FAMILIES
Join us tonight from 5:30-7:00 PM - Young Families group will gather for dinner and play games. Please bring a dish to share. We will eat together as families from 5:30- 6:00 and will then have games and fun afterwards.

Be green and bring in your Christmas cards. There will be a box in the Narthex to collect them and they will be put to good use in a future craft project.
